Or by the people I share them with.
About Me
Raison d'être
In these days of modern convenience, we cook as much with our heart as with our hands. When it's so easy to dine out or reheat or order in, it takes a special effort to get down and dirty in the kitchen after a long day of work. So take your pots and pans and turn dinner, breakfast, holidays, snacks, into something with a little pizazz, a little bit of love, and you'll find those that you feed will appreciate it all the more. And so will you.
I find cooking helps me focus and be in the moment. I love creating something fresh and delicious with my own hands to share with my friends and family. I like being creative, trying to foods and combinations, and the satisfaction of knowing what flavors will go well together, how best to cook a cut of meat, when pasta is done cooking, etc. I also love writing. So what better home for these passions, than a food blog?
A few notes about my cooking style: I'm usually cooking for two, so if the portions seem odd, that's probably why. Most of my measurements are approximated (esp. when it comes to seasonings) so these recipes are more like a set of guidelines than anything else. Many come from cookbooks or online sources where noted, often with my own modifications while many are also original. I also have this terrible habit of forgetting ingredients (despite detailed grocery lists) and having to improvise on the fly. I'm kind of scared of baking, but I'm never afraid to let other people bake for me (esp. my husband and esp. cupcakes).
